Introducing the SEL-TWFL Traveling-Wave Fault Locator

The SEL-TWFL Dual Traveling-Wave Fault Locator and 12-Channel MHz Recorder offers the same field-proven fault-locating technology as SEL-T400L and SEL-T401L line protective relays—in a standalone device. The SEL-TWFL can monitor two lines from a single substation.

Install this new fault locator alongside existing line protective relays to provide accurate traveling-wave fault locating, line monitoring, and MHz event recording.

• The traveling-wave fault-locating feature is accurate to within one tower span. Apply it on overhead and cable lines and on hybrid lines with both overhead and cable sections.
• The SEL-TWFL provides line monitoring. Use it for condition-based line maintenance to prevent line faults and help detect weak spots along the line.
• The event recording feature operates at a 1 MHz sampling rate with 18 bits of resolution. Identify and analyze high-frequency transients for an enhanced understanding of the events on your power system.
